Okay so for the kids who aced their A levels and matric with 95 percent or straight As and aiming for pre med and then medicine later on please DO NOT try to get into this profession unless YOU absolutely want to.I have utmost respect for my profession but few ground realities:
1.again unless you have interest
in it dont get into a medical college due to peer pressure.they aint going to help you when u arent able to keep up with the pressure
2. Do weigh logistics if u cant get into a govt medical college before getting into a pvt one.dont burden ur parents they will do anything to pay those fancy fees but u need to take a stand at that point esp if u have younger siblings too.
3. Biggest myth is ak dafa medical college main admission hojaye tou all is well
Absolutely NO . Its alot of hard work . Every higher study requires it but lets face it once u are in med school its going to grind u alot
4. biggest ground reality of the field: you wont be able to get a tad stable until 5 to 6 years after graduation (thats the min limit) and there is always a period of frustration when the ends are not met and still a lot of struggle is up pre and post specialization.beware
This thread doesnt aim at all to de motivate. But general public thinks that its all amazing and fancy to be a doctor NO. .once u be one u must have a thick skin to be confronted daily counsel every moment with calmnes and deal with agitations and morbidities that gets depressing
It is getting very harder for doctors to thrive in Pak .but its a very rewarding field (not in terms of money:another myth) but in terms of satisfaction . One dua from a patient or attendent elates you like nothing else :)
