If you want to start selling on Amazon but have no idea where to start

Books đź“š could be a great entry point

- Here’s Why -
A large majority of the book titles sold on Amazon are already “ungated” for new sellers

Ungated means that you are not restricted from selling that particular item or brand

While Gated means the opposite

This means you can get started whenever you’re ready
Books are everywhere and insanely cheap

You can find books in your local thrift store, library sale, or farmers market

From $2 being the median to 25¢

And just because a book is cheap, doesn’t mean it’s not valuable
This book, The Lost Days of Disco, was found at a library sale for a $1

The same copy is selling for 95 on amazon
It’s not that libraries or thrift stores are incompetent when valuing their inventory

This is just the name of the game

Libraries get donations from people all over their zip code

Thousands of books

It’ll be difficult for local, low staff libraries to price check each book
Thrift stores move entire crates of hundreds of different products daily

The best they can do is quickly label as many items as possible and get it to the floor

This gives us as resellers an opportunity
Our goal is to scan through as many book as quickly as possible

And cherry picking the ones deemed as profitable
Most books lie in the profit range of $2-6

If you can scan through 400 books in an hour (Very Possible)

With a acceptance rate of 10%

You have just made $160 an hour and that is very much a lowball
DM if you have any questions

I’m pretty new to the game myself but the business model is as simple as can be
