Was in the barbers today and my guy must have been around early 20s and he had a child with him who he was showing how to do a fade using my head as an example. When the boy went to the shop to get sweets he told me the kid was from his block, and is one of 7.

Said he brought him to work & his sister was in the hairdressers next door so the two of them could learn a trade & see something that might hopefully inspire them one day.

He told me he didn’t have anyone to look up to and now he’s a barber he’s tryna be a role model.

When he finished my trim the boy smiled, explained back to him how to do it and said, thanks! I’m gonna try that with my brothers.

Actually the most wholesome trim I’ve ever had.
