We are on the very brink of losing Roe v. Wade and much, much more. Hopefully that will arouse the sleeping masses and send them to the polls. A critique and THREAD

Moving forward, win or lose in 2020, can we please acknowledge that we (liberals and people of good cheer) have done EVERYTHING wrong in the abortion debate?

We have every right position - that education, birth control, and prosecuting child rapists all lead to fewer abortions and bad outcomes. And this is good.

HOWEVER, we lose and lose and lose by letting the other side frame the debate as "choice" versus "saving babies". And then we lose some more.

Anti-abortion forces have used this issue to inspire massive activism at the state and local and federal level. It is the number one driving force and it has been entirely coopted by the evils.

For god sakes, they've use "pro-life" to empower a loser that let 200,000 die unecessarily.

Ultimately, a woman's choice is a sacred and important and private matter, but we have to find a way to reframe the debate. Positive outcomes for people and babies is at least as important.

As long as we are perceived as saying we stand for "choose baby murder" we will continue to lose.
