I am sad to see Oliver, @deathbybadger, 💩 on me for expressing this.

As a combat vet, I assure you, LOVE, has an impact in combat and on the battlefield.

APR 2011, Iraq. An airman is hit by an IED. I am doing all I can to call in a MEDEVAC while their intestines spill... 1/1
...on the ground. My adrenaline is rushing, I make the radio call, trembling, knowing if I mess up coordinates or anything that this Airman is dead.

I pull through, the MEDEVAC arrives, the Airman is evac'd and survives.

Everyday for a year I dealth with this... 2/2
...IED's, calls of Soldiers and Airmen requiring medevac after being hit by violent attacks.

Or the time a mortar round exploded near me. The sound of the incoming mortar round intensified as it landed an blew up, shattering my senses as my combat buddy & I ran for cover...3/3
...love has many forms, camaraderie is one of those types of love I know and have experienced first hand in a combat zone.

I suggest others have some empathy. Talk to a veteran if you don't know one, ask them about love in combat. 4/4
Anyway, no hard feelings to Oliver. I just want to give some context so others can see how I, with my life experiences, believe love and combat go hand in hand.

Sometimes on the battlefield and in combat, more times than most LOVE is all we have that keeps us going. 5/5
