I hope the next Supreme Court Justice is an original intent constitutionalist who is determined to restore 5th and 14th amendment protections to the pre-born. Abortion is a scourge and slavery-like black mark on our country’s character.
Also -and I in particular need to say this as loudly as I can- I have no problem at all with President Trump nominating a Supreme Court Justice this week. He’s the President, it’s part of his job, he never claimed he’d wait, and Obama did it too. No problem at all.
While I’m at it, I really hope many of my Trumpy friends are right. I hope the nominee is everything they say he/she will be. I don’t believe it, but I do hope to be wrong.
Might as well say this too: If this was a new crop of Senators, a different breed than who ruled in 2016, and they said they weren’t going to follow Mitch’s plan... cool, no problem. I don’t care if they wait or not, honestly.
But what I just can’t abide is hypocrisy. This isn’t a different breed of Senator, these are the
—>VERY SAME<—

GOP senators who blocked Merrick Garland in March of an election year because they said the electorate should decide.
But suddenly the shoe is on the other foot and September isn’t too late. That’s blatant and audacious hypocrisy, plain and simple. I just can’t be a part of it. And those supporting it are making a Faustian bargain with their character.
This kind of behavior ought not be found among Christians. It’s indefensible for believers. And those of us in the church that see it need to stand up to it.

Enough is enough. I am tired of selling out who we are for political victories that are usually empty promises anyway.
Are we ambassadors for Christ and His kingdom, or are we republicans?

Choose. Because while you can BE both, you can’t SERVE both as master.
