proving this video wrong: a thread https://twitter.com/kurpkacore/status/1307134297648902154
okay. i just wanted to preface this with i am NOT trying to compare islam to other religions and claim it as superior. everyone is free to their own religious beliefs. this is just an educational thread. while all of the points are directly refuting the video, there is some+
information about islam in here too (in terms of modern and islamic history). this is coming from a muslim and years of learning this in history classes, mosques, and islamic textbooks. pls anyone try to correct me if there’s anything incorrect about what i said !!
“the quran has one book”
actually it has 30 juz (parts) and a total of 114 surahs, each of varying lengths.
the surahs and juz of the quran were collected after the prophet Muhammad’s death by Abu Bakr, his closest friend. and in terms of books, there’s the quran and the sunnah.
“one author”
while yes that is true, it’s important to note the author. the prophet Muhammad is what is called a rasool (رسول الله) which means messenger Allah (God). the prophet received the writings of quran weighed onto him from from the angels (like Jibreel known as Gabriel)+
+and recited it to muslims, who eventually wrote it down. Jesus and Moses are considered rasool as well, as they spread the message of the Bible and Torat
“one language”
like every other holy book (including the bible) it was written in an original language, which is arabic. however, it’s been translated to 114 languages, all with EXPLANATIONS of each verse (as the quran is written in a style of poetry, so the verses aren’t always+
+direct meanings, and need further explanation even to native arabic speakers.)
“one country”
yes, of course it started in one country, but islam spread rather quickly. it spread from the arabian peninsula towards north africa, all of the middle east, all the way eastwards, even to indonesia. and these are all just predominantly muslim countries. muslims+
+are just minorities in other regions. however, if it was truly one country and remains as such, why would it need to be translated into 114 different languages?
“over 23 years”
... not even gonna go deep into this one but:
the hijri (or islamic) calendar is a calendar that marks islamic time after the death of the prophet Muhammad. it’s currently the year 1442 in hijri. furthermore, the Quran was collected in around 32 H, so around 1410+
+years ago. and this is just the physical version of the Quran. the prophet Muhammad started receiving surahs of the Quran around 1419 years ago
“no prophecies”
i’m not sure if they mean prophet or prophecies ... so i’m gonna do both.
there are around 25 prophets in islam, many of which are present in other religions (e.g. David, Noah, Jesus, Moses, Ezekiel, Lot, etc.) many of which are stated in the quran. +
+ if they mean in terms of prophecies, then there is a very large message in islam which is (لا إله إلى الله) which means there is no God besides one. and in terms of lineage prophecies, each prophet stated either the name or event of things that would happen. for example,+
+in islam it is believed that Jesus stated that a prophet named Muhammad would follow him and be the last prophet. also, Muhammad stated that he was the last prophet. there is a clear prophecy in islam (in terms of prophets towards the earth) and many other consistent tales
“no miracles”
I HAVE TO LAUGHHHH
okay, almost every prophet had miracles, such as Sulaiman (Solomon) who could speak to animals. islam speaks of Jesus’s miracles too, such as speaking from infancy, creating birds from clay, and healing the blind and severely ill. these are just+
+a few examples of some islamic miracles, completely excluding the miracles of Allah Himself and the quran’s predictions
“a grave in medina”
okay it is not JUST a grave in medina. it’s the grave of the prophet. medina and makkah hold so many sacred buildings, such as the ka3ba in makkah which is literally called the house of God (بيت الله) which is the way that muslims face during prayer+
+(please note that muslims are not worshipping the ka3ba itself, but rather it is just hinted that it is the “closest place to Allah” its kind of confusing and i’ll explain to anyone who asks). more important islamic buildings: masjid al-nabawi, al-aqsa mosque, masjid al-haram
“no atonement”
then what is duaa, istighfar, prayer, sunnah, and all other good deeds? sins are measured in islam by their “weight” so atonement for them is in the form of overcoming sins with good deeds of a larger weight (for example, past minor theft with donations and prayer)
“hatred for enemies”
tw // death , rape , war , kidnapping
-
-
okay so, islam is literally a religion built on peace. everything was solved with peace. violence/war resulted when too many muslim brothers were killed and too many muslim sisters were kidnapped, trafficked, and+
+raped. many were forced out of islam. muslims were shown nothing but pure hatred in the form of violence, and it’s important to note how violent opposers of islam were at the time. they aimed to kill the prophet and all of his followers. even THEN they remained peaceful+
+and simply left. islam grew from peace, preaches peace, and is so peaceful which is rooted in islamic morals and values (for example, greeting someone is mandatory, being kind to your neighbors is mandatory, giving 33% of your income yearly to those in need is mandatory if able)
“slavery”
okay... let’s clear one thing up.
the “slaves” at the time were prisoners of war, most whom came willingly to the side of islam. even then, they were not forced into islam, they were paid, given good food, clothing, shelter, and even allowed their families to all live+
