Let me explain why anybody who is for lockdowns is using grandma as a human shield

By locking down, you are ensuring that the 20 year old grandson has the same chance of getting the virus as his 80 year old grandma
Despite being about 400x less likely to die, we prefer they each have an equal chance of getting the virus

The grandson is going to be careful
But that doesn’t mean grandma isn’t going to be infected by someone else - example: grandson’s friend who mows grandma’s lawn
The longer the virus circulates the greater the chance to infect grandma

Now if the grandson (+ friend) goes off to college, eventually gets the virus
Maybe he’s a little sick, maybe he’s asymptomatic
But he gets over it, he’s no longer a danger to grandma or anybody else’s grandma
Same for the grandson’s friend who mows grandma’s lawn

But the ‘long term health sequelae” for young people!?!?
Yeah, that’s all BS. The unlucky few will have some lasting sequelae, but it’s no different than flu which we don’t freak out about

We are not thinking rationally
We are not considering all variables in crafting public health
As @BallouxFrancois wrote: we are gambling that a virus will save us
In the meantime, we are facilitating the demise of our elders, when most of us are at virtually no risk
