A thread on “Positive Tests”.....

With cases seemingly on the rise at an alarming rate, and media hysteria driving people into almost accepting another lockdown, I thought it would be worthwhile explaining what false positives mean - because I had no understanding at first...

Matt Hancock today (18 Sep) said that Pillar 1 & 2 tests had a False Positive (test results showing positive for Covid-19, although person doesn’t actually carry the virus) rate of 0.8%

0.8% - seems very low right? Let’s break it down.

0.8% = 8 people per 1000

17 September 2020 - headlines read..

3,395 NEW CASES OF COVID-19

Scary right?

Not really.

236,219 tests were conducted on 17/09 (Covid-19 Dashboard)

3,395 came back positive

That works out at 1.4%

This means 14 in every 1,000 people tested, came back positive

When you factor in the fact that Matt Hancock already admitted today, at worst case - that tests had a 0.8% false positive rate, you could assume that out of each 14 people per 1000 that showed positive - 8 were false positives

This is alarming - this works out at 57%...

This means that out of 3,395 positive “cases”, once you take the false positives out (1,935) you are left with

1,460 true positive cases.

So, after yesterday, 1,935 are now walking round wrongly thinking they have Covid-19

3,395 is the headline - and we are heading towards

Another NATIONAL LOCKDOWN

The impact of this will hugely outweigh the benefit - I’m talking economically, socially, mentally - and nobody is questioning the government because this has now become a casedemic.. I’m sharing this because

I want people to understand the figures, this is not all doom and gloom, hospitals have never been quieter and deaths are not rising in line with cases.

1,460 is still a lot, but if we were conducting 200,000+ tests in Mar/Apr, you’d suspect huge numbers then compared to now

Here we can overlay “lockdown measures” et al...

We have passed the peak. There is no second wave.

If there is now another wave of “cases” then you would WANT it to look like this - cases rising in the younger population (less hospitalisation, much lower death rate) - this is the path towards immunity

307 people under the age of 60 (no pre-existing health conditions) have died with Covid-19 on the death certificate.

Does this new “rise in cases” warrant further destruction of our minds, economy and society?

PLEASE don’t forget nearly 3,000,000 people are still paid through the furlough scheme.

That ends in 6 weeks.

Another lockdown will mean huge redundancies - there are already 695,000 fewer people on Payroll compared to March 2020

LOCKDOWN2 will be devastating - not Covid.
