1/4 I had no idea how anyone could support Dictator Dan. Then after a few chats I figured something out today about the #IStandWithDan crowd. A thread

They are sad, lonely people. Often with multiple accounts to crank up the "like" numbers.

2/4 Almost all of them work in government funded roles or are on welfare, and thus have no job insecurity. Many received a pay rise mid-pandemic. They have no skin in the real-world game.

Many have additional powers due to the pandemic. They are having the time of their lives.

3/4 I've even met a contact tracer. They wouldn't have voted for Dan before the pandemic. Now they have an enormous salary, great powers and are working exclusively with like minded people. This person loves Dan now, as they could never achieve this outside the public service.

4/4 But above all the #IStandWithDan crowd have no social lives. They are boring, introverted people. Tweeting abuse is their life. Now, with nightlife, bars, gyms, cinemas etc. shut, everyone is as boring and pathetic as they are.

No wonder they are loving it. #DictatorDan
