To those of you hellbent on bashing Nancy Pelosi, please, keep it up. When she tweets something decisive or informative, press her to reopen impeachment hearings, because it’s a great use of the House’s time, and we can certainly expect a different outcome this time, right? (1/9)
Or attack her for not passing a bill that she passed *months ago*. (Keeping track of all the bills the House has passed is too much work, after all). Or deride her for not pursuing a legal path that’s outside her jurisdiction. (How are you to know what her job entails?) (2/9)
Or condemn her for not combating fascism in the precise manner you’d like her to. After all, your being an outsider to politics means your ideas are clever and fresh, and she’s only recognized worldwide as the most effective legislative leader of our time. (3/9)
And keep shouting “do something!!” at her, which is admirably specific and helpful. Sure, it only reinforces in the minds of undecided voters the notion that “both parties are the same,“ when nothing could be further from the truth, but that’s not your problem, right? (4/9)
When the Administration does something criminal, ruinous or insane, scream “25th Amendment” at her and accuse her of being weak and indecisive, instead of googling how the 25th Amendment actually *works* and maybe learning something. Learning is boring, am I right? (5/9)
Oh, and when she tweets an accomplishment by the House, don’t retweet her or quote-tweet her or, heaven forbid, *thank* her. Again, you could help sway undecided voters, but that’s not nearly as much fun as quote-tweeting a Republican with a crass comment they’ll never see. (6/9)
And when she hands you a hashtag she feels is politically sound ( #JusticeInPolicing), continue to use your own hashtag, the one with “defund” in it: you know, the one Republicans are using against us. After all, you like your hashtag better, and isn’t that all that matters? (7/9)
Direct your ire at her, instead of the ones responsible for our national nightmare. She’s a woman, and that’s what we do: question, misrepresent and blame women. And as a brilliant, powerful woman, she’s an easy target, so help make her an easier one. (8/9)
So in conclusion, keep bashing Nancy Pelosi. Or if you understand the irony in my words, then cut it out. And if you can’t cut it out, then please get the f**k off my TL, because we have one chance in November, and I’m so tired of watching you f**k it up for the rest of us. (9/9)
