US history is already SO painfully white washed and very “yay America is the best country ever”.. you rarely get the full picture until you attend college.

“History is written by the victors” and now it has the potential to be further watered down. They might as well send out this picture and call it a day.

All this does is create a generation of students who will never build their own knowledge because they don’t go on to attain further education. Or those who do will be wildly confused when there is much more for them than they ever imagined.

We can’t begin to understand US history without learning about the minority voices in our history.

To pressure teachers to stick to a standard that is already more false than their current ones is fucked up.
