The belief that there was no nighlife in the USSR is completely false. Of course, the concept of nightlife varied a lot throughout the history of the country, but night-time recreation activities were always part of the people's culture.
As you can see, many cafes, theatres, cinemas, theme parks and even restaurants and shops opened at night. Especially during the summer and on festivals.
As shown in the second photo, even some libraries were open at night, for those who preferred to spend the end of their day accompanied by their favorite books, along with other services which were available for the night workers and night owls.
