Kaufman’s script was originally written for a real pig, but — as he says — "It turned out that pigs cannot turn their heads, and they get panicky on slippery surfaces."
So how to film a pig taking a slow, meditative walk down a school hallway and turning its head to speak?
Kaufman looked to animation producer Rosa Tran (ANOMALISA) and artist Mollie Ong to bring the pig to life via watercolor and VFX.
