On this day, the anniversary of Hildegard Von Bingen’s passing, I want to tell you why she’s my hero.

she’s not just some woo-woo artist or some safe nun. She rebelled and was revered in ways that women were not typically respected.
Hildegard of bingen was once forbidden to make music because she provided shelter and medical care for a soldier who was excommunicated.

She taught people how to heal with plants.

She spoke out against popes and kings.

She was both a mystic and woman of the people.
She also portrayed the universe as a pussy
All of this to say: no one can fucking tell you how to experience the divine.

But evidence of communing with the divine does however often look like confident communication, compassion for all, and commitment to healing.

Green truth, as it were.
