Here’s the scoop. I contacted the school this morning to ask about switching to distance learning while daughter fights this illness. Was told it’s a state policy that if it’s not COVID, it counts as an absence and she can’t do distance. So I did my research....
I composed this email regarding our school district’s policy and attached a copy of the state’s policy with my own markup.
So basically, my options are 1. Lie and say it’s COVID. 2. Send a sick kid to school. Or, 3. Keep her home, knowing school has been in session for 2 weeks and she’s already missed 2.5 days. The max absences is 10 days.

No, this doesn’t work for me.
Oh, and the school secretary said “The good news is that if she gets COVID, we don’t have to count her quarantine as an absence!”

Yes. Wonderful news. Thank you.
