We were back in Harrisburg today for session and a meeting of the House Commerce Committee. Today in committee, I voted in favor of legislation to:
Create a $250 million grant program to provide working capital for small "mom and pop" restaurants struggling during the pandemic;
Prohibit certain indemnification agreements in construction contracts, often used to shift liability and risk onto smaller subcontractors. Similar anti-indemnity laws already exist in 43 states;
Protect the independence and solvency of the state Banking Fund, used for state financial oversight operations;
Designate September 2020 as Business Month in Pennsylvania.
