Alright, hear me out! Its not as clear as the poll suggests right now

Here is a thread on why Neymar Jr. Deserves the UEFA forward of the year as much as if not more than Lewandowski

RT’s and likes highly appreciated-- https://twitter.com/ChampionsLeague/status/1306631055370334210?s=20
1/12- So, I shall begin with the metrics of an award like this which I shall be discussing individually as thread progresses-:

Overall performance during the `CL Season
Big game performances (specifically the knockouts)
Overall impact on team play
Being x-factor in crucial games
2/12- Lets start with the overall season metric and we all know Lewy is ahead for his record-breaking scoring season. But the diff. Isn’t as clear. In fact, if we see Ney’s season as a whole just from direct goal contributions, 28G+A in 23 games ain’t bad.

Continued..
3/12- Bring into other components of his play (playmaking, dribbling etc) we have a close call here.

However, if I’m being unbiased, I would give the overall season to Lewa considering two major factors- His conistency and him being available for more games for his team.

Next.
4/12 Now, lets come to the big game performances I.e. the CL knockouts and here’s where Ney chops in- He got 4g+a in 5 games but adding some context- scoring both goals against Dortmund, historical playmaking against Atlanta and a super packed one against Leipzig

Continued...
5/12 Lets compare it to Lewa- Yes, he got 10 G+A which is quite historic, but context: his goals against both Barca and OL were in dead games where his side had already won game. Add to that, Ney passing him in all of dribbles, chances, keypasses, through balls, we are head2head.
6/12 Now, lets talk of impact to the team- An area Ney clearly wins. Ney was the heart of this PSG attack. Just to show that statisticaly, 40% of PSG possesion was held by Neymar during PSG vs Galatasray. Neymar almost directly contributed to 5 out of 7 PSG knockout goals-

Con.
7/12 and was standout of PSG’s attack in almost every single game he played

Moving to Lewy, even though he managed some stunning individual numbers, his overall contribution relative to Ney is inferior considering the percent of possesion he held in the FCB squad is really low
.
8/12. On an average its around less than 10% of possesion every game.

TO CLARIFY, This is absolutely nowhere against Lewa but obviously, we have to credit Ney for his overall impact to this squad

Lets go to next point
9/12 Now, finally on being the X factor, Lewa was surely a X factor against chelsea 2nd leg but other than that, we are talking of a full stacked Bayern who would have won regardless in games. Compare that to Ney getting MOTMs In both cup finals and carrying PSG

continued...
10/12- that too, almost single handedly to the semis of CL, we have to give credit to Ney for achieving finals with a relatively inferior squad
11/12- On a concluding note, Lewandowski was absolutely insane this season and deserves all accolades for that, but Ney has been immensely important for taking this PSG squad inches away from a treble and having him as a favourite for POTY isn’t a stretch!
12/12 END OF THREAD!!
