Sure, we have all heard about recent great seasons of players. But hoe easily do we seem to forget them? When goalscoring records were smashed, and they perhaps had an amazing assist tally. Lets take a trip down memory lane and remember some amazing individual seasons.
LIONEL MESSI🇦🇷

Club: FC Barcelona🇪🇸
Season: 2011/2012

Matches: 60👤
Goals: 73⚽️
Assists: 35🅰️

The greatest individual season ever? It might be. Messi had 60 goals in LaLiga alone, but despite his individual brilliance, Real Madrid won LaLiga. Champions League? Chelsea won it.
CRISTIANO RONALDO🇵🇹

Club: Real Madrid🇪🇸
Season: 2014/2015

Matches: 54👤
Goals: 61⚽️
Assists: 23🅰️

Ronaldo was freakishly consistent this season, and you might argue this was his best year. However, he won the CL the year before and after. But 14/15? Messi and Barcelona took it
MÁRIO JARDEL🇧🇷

Club: Sporting Club🇵🇹
Season: 2001/2002

Matches: 36👤
Goals: 48⚽️
Assists: 7🅰️

A personal favorite was the Brazilian front man, who "did nothing else but score goals". A cult hero in 90's and early 2000's, Jardel even won the Golden Boot following this season.
JOÃO PINTO🇵🇹

Club: Sporting Club🇵🇹
Season: 2001/2002

Matches: 38👤
Goals: 10⚽️
Assists: 20🅰️

... but who provided Jardel with a huge amount of those goals. Well, that would be one João Pinto, who hit double digits both in goals and assists that season for Sporting. Dynamic duo
ERLING BRAUT HAALAND🇳🇴

Clubs: Red Bull Salzburg🇦🇹/Borussia Dortmund🇩🇪
Season: 2019/2020

Matches: 40👤
Goals: 44⚽️
Assists: 10🅰️

To do this mostly as a teenager says everything. The monster from Jæren did not care which league or tournament, he was all about the goals.
STEFFEN HOFMANN🇩🇪

Club: Rapid Wien🇦🇹
Season: 2007/2008

Matches: 44👤
Goals: 18⚽️
Assists: 27🅰️

27 assists is a ridiculous number, and one that the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Lionel Messi probably could forget. Mind you, this is Austria, but .. look .. 27 friggin' assists!
GERD MÜLLER🇩🇪

Club: Bayern München🇩🇪
Season: 1971/1972

Matches: 48👤
Goals: 50⚽️
Assists: 17🅰️

The 40-goal Bundesliga season is perhaps regarded as the most memorable one. During the calendar year 1972, "Der Bomber" ended up scoring an astonishing 85 goals. Incredible numbers!
FERNANDO PEYROTEO🇵🇹

Club: Sporting Club🇵🇹
Season: 1946/1947

Matches: 26👤
Goals: 43⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

The exact numbers for Peyroteo seem to a bit all over the place, but most seem to agree on this season. One of the really forgotten goal machines of world football.
DIXIE DEAN🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Club: Everton🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Season: 1927/1928

Matches: 39👤
Goals: 60⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

Dixie Dean's 60 league goals a season is still the record and England, and is likely to remain that way. There seems to be a bit of uncertainty whether he even had more goals in the FA Cup.
ALEX🇧🇷

Club: Fenerbahce🇹🇷
Season: 2005/2006

Matches: 44👤
Goals: 28⚽️
Assists: 20🅰️

Some might forget how ridiculously good Alex was for the Turkish giants during the 2000's, and how big of an incon he became. Averaging more than a goal/assist a game for a whole season? Nuts!
EDEN HAZARD🇧🇪

Club: Lille🇫🇷
Season: 2011/2012

Matches: 49👤
Goals: 22⚽️
Assists: 22🅰️

This is the season in which Hazard turned 21, meaning he was basically dominating a league at a very, very early age. The whole of Europe chased him, and eventually he went to Chelsea.
PELÉ🇧🇷

Club: Santos🇧🇷
Season: 1958

Matches: 46👤
Goals: 66⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

Kinda scratching my head at this one, but it seems to be legit. Pelé, at the age of 16-17, basically dominated everything and everyone. This is also the year he won the World Cup with Brazil in Sweden.
FERENC PUSKAS🇭🇺

Club: Real Madrid🇪🇸
Season: 1959/1960

Matches: 36👤
Goals: 49⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

The Hungarian legend had some amazing seasons, but this might be his best. On top of winning the European Cup, he was a force of his own. And given he had Di Stéfano as well .. woof!
BAGHDAD BOUNEDJAH🇩🇿

Club: Al-Sadd🇶🇦
Season: 2018/2019

Matches: 33👤
Goals: 42⚽️
Assists: 10🅰️

One of the greatest goalscoreres to never have played in Europe, Bounedjah is something of a legend. He is a African Cup of Nations winner, and in 18/19 also won the Qatari league.
ABDERRAZAK HAMDALLAH🇲🇦

Club: Al-Nassr🇸🇦
Season: 2018/2019

Matches: 35👤
Goals: 49⚽️
Assists: 11🅰️

If an Algerian did in Qatar, a Moroccan was the star in Saudi Arabia. Hamdallah has not stopped scoring since. He scored a total of 57 goals in the calendar year of 2019.
THIERRY HENRY🇫🇷

Club: Arsenal🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Season: 2002/2003

Matches: 55👤
Goals: 32⚽️
Assists: 28🅰️

The assist record in the Premier League as well that year. A ridiculous season for one, if not the greatest attackers in PL history. Curiously, Man United won the league this season.
LOUIS VAN HEGE🇧🇪

Club: AC Milan🇮🇹
Season: 1914/1915

Matches: 20👤
Goals: 22⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

I really wanted to include an early one, and this is over a 100 years ago. Van Hege eventually left Milano following the start of the First World War, having averaged a goal a game.
RONALDO🇧🇷

Club: FC Barcelona🇪🇸
Season: 1996/1997

Matches: 49👤
Goals: 47⚽️
Assists: 12🅰️

"O Fenomeno" had only one season in Cataluña, but man, oh man was it memorable .. what an incredible year it was for the Brazilian, but even more so a reminder of what could've been.
ZVIAD ENDELADZE🇬🇪

Club: FC Margveti Zestafoni🇬🇪
Season: 1995/1996

Matches: 30👤
Goals: 40⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

His fantastic season in Georgia is not the most known, but it would have given him the Golden Boot had the award not been suspended during this season season. Must suck.
DUDU GEORGESCU🇷🇴

Club: Steaua Bucuresti🇷🇴
Season: 1976/1977

Matches: 31👤
Goals: 47⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

An absolute goal machine was the Romanian striker. This was the second year he won the European Golden Boot, and he scored 252 goals in the Romanian top flight. Still a record!
HÉCTOR SCOTTA🇦🇷

Club: San Lorenzo🇦🇷
Season: 1975

Matches: 57👤
Goals: 60⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

In Argentina the league was divided into two, and Scotta completely went off. 60 goals in a full year is the most anyone has scored in the Argentinian division ever. Will hardly be beaten.
ARSENIO ERICO🇵🇾

Club: Independiente🇦🇷
Season: 1937

Matches: 34👤
Goals: 47⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

Though Scotta has the most for a full year, it's the Paraguayan Arsenio Erico who has the most goals in one full season. Another record you'd think would be hard to ever beat.
BRUNO FERNANDES🇵🇹

Clubs: Sporting Club🇵🇹/Manchester United🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Season: 2019/2020

Matches: 50👤
Goals: 27⚽️
Assists: 22🅰️

Though he had more goals the season before (32), switching leagues and continuing your level of production is something immaculate. Fernandes is special.
XAVI🇪🇸

Club: FC Barcelona🇪🇸
Season: 2008/2009

Matches: 54👤
Goals: 10⚽️
Assists: 31🅰️

Kinda had to rub my eyes when I saw the assist numbers on this season That is something quite incredible for a player who, admittedly, might be the greatest playmaker in Spain's history.
OMAR AL-SOMAH🇸🇾

Club: Al-Ahli🇸🇦
Season: 2016/2017

Matches: 39👤
Goals: 41⚽️
Assists: 6🅰️

Has been a bit of a mystic character for years, and perhaps best known as a favorite amongst FIFA players. But the Syrian striker, often compared with Zlatan Ibrahimović, is the real deal.
GRAFITE🇧🇷

Club: Wolfsburg🇩🇪
Season: 2008/2009

Matches: 31👤
Goals: 35⚽️
Assists: 10🅰️

Perhaps a one season wonder, but Grafite had a ridiculous year up front alongside someone else we will see in this thread. His backheeled goal v Bayern was a highlight of the season alone.
EDIN DZEKO🇧🇦

Club: Wolfsburg🇩🇪
Season: 2008/2009

Matches: 42👤
Goals: 36⚽️
Assists: 12🅰️

Brazilian Grafite and Bosnian Dzeko seemed perhaps an unlikely couple, but together they scored over 50 goals this season in the Bundesliga. Wolfsburg, obviously, won the league.
ZVJEZDAN MISMOVIC🇧🇦

Club: Wolfsburg🇩🇪
Season: 2008/2009

Matches: 45👤
Goals: 11⚽️
Assists: 27🅰️

Oddly enough, the Bosnian playmaker is often not mentioned alongside Dzeko and Grafite, but he was the mastermind behind the attack that spearheaded Wolfsburg to the league title.
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI🇵🇱

Club: Bayern München🇩🇪
Season: 2019/2020

Matches: 47👤
Goals: 55⚽️
Assists: 10🅰️

The Polish striker seems to be like a fine wine, and gets better with age. Last season was out of this world for the Bayern man who couldn't stop scoring as his team won it all
MOHAMED SALAH🇪🇬

Club: Liverpool🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Season: 2017/2018

Matches: 52👤
Goals: 44⚽️
Assists: 16🅰️

Oddly enough, this season was the one where Liverpool did not win anything. The following two seasons, Salah's numbers dropped, but Liverpool won the UCL and then the PL.
DANI ALVES🇧🇷

Club: FC Barcelona🇪🇸
Season: 2010/2011

Matches: 54👤
Goals: 4⚽️
Assists: 20🅰️

Given how Trent Alexander-Arnold was hailed for his fantastic season, you'd think Dani Alves would go "ha.. cute" given his 2010/2011-season when he was a right-side of his own.
NEYMAR🇧🇷

Club: Santos🇧🇷
Season: 2012

Matches: 47👤
Goals: 43⚽️
Assists: 20🅰️

The "allow me to formally introduce myself"-season for Neymar, who blew everyone away in Brazil. To think, Santos even stayed out of the cup because of Libertadores. Would surely get more goals!
AFONSO ALVES🇧🇷

Club: Heerenveen🇳🇱
Season: 2006/2007

Matches: 40👤
Goals: 37⚽️
Assists: 4🅰️

Remember this cult hero? Afonso Alves earned a move to Middlesbrough based on this season, but could never live up to the hype. In 2006/2007 he had 34 goals in 31 league matches.
GUNNAR NORDAHL🇸🇪

Club: AC Milan🇮🇹
Season: 1949/1950

Matches: 37👤
Goals: 35⚽️
Assists: ?🅰️

The record for most goals in one single Serie A season stood for over 60 years as Nordahl, part of the famous "Gre-No-Li"-connection, smashed in 35 goals in one single season.
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC🇸🇪

Club: Paris Saint-Germain🇫🇷
Season: 2015/2016

Matches: 51👤
Goals: 50⚽️
Assists: 18🅰️

38 goals in 31 league matches, this was Zlatan final year in Paris and ... yeah, those are obscene numbers. Fair to say that Zlatan did what Zlatan wanted this year
KLAAS-JAN HUNTELAAR🇳🇱

Club: Schalke 04🇩🇪
Season: 2011/2012

Matches: 48👤
Goals: 48⚽️
Assists: 14🅰️

"The Hunter" had a ridiculous season this year, and scored 14 goals in 12 Europa League matches. Always known as quite prolific, this was the season of his career.
