Robin’s top 30 favorite songs of all-time in a thread:
Placement: #30
Artist: Usher
Song: Burn

I loved the old Usher who used to make then generation based music and was one of them who influenced others to make pop and rap music. Usher had a lot of hits, but nothing hits me more than Burn which is constantly on repeat.
Placement: #29
Artist: Nirvana
Song: Smells Like Teen Spirit

I gotta admit the grunge time in the 90’s was phenomenal. It brough life to a new genre which only grew bigger at the time. Depressed songs and unoticable cries for help in the lyrics, that was pain. This however!
Placement: #28
Artist: Green Day
Song: Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Their best song by a mile, but I’d say this is one of the more successful bands ever. The music philosophy Green Day has is extreme and even Billie Joe makes me question my own sexuality..
Placement: #27
Artist: Michael Sembello
Song: Maniac

Flashdance is so lucky to have the best movie soundtrack in history. It’s superb arranged and it was the perfect opportunity to make this movie shine even more. The song is pure perfection in itself and that guitar riff.. WOW!
Placement: #26
Artist: Travis
Song: Side

This Scottish rock band is the most underrated band in history. I’m amazed with the music they made that they’re so unknown. Side is their best for sure and I love every single piece of it, especially the capturing video.
Placement: #25
Artist: The Killers
Song: Mr. Brightside

This was revolutionary in many ways, I mean look at those lyrics.. it ain’t making any sense, haha! The song slaps a thousand times though and everything is fireworks and confetti. One of the best rock songs to exist!
Placement: #24
Artist: Black Eyed Peas
Song: Shut Up

Who else had BEP as their childhood heroes? They were the only good thing existing and I’d listen to every single album if I had to.. with a legendary group like these, it’s hard to choose their best, but SHUT UP!
Placement: #23
Artists: The Killers
Song: Human

Having Human and Viva La Vida published the same year was the best thing to happen. Two life changing songs which really meant a lot. They really killed this song ironically enough. Just a joy listening to this when it comes on.
Placement: #22
Artist: Gareth Gates
Song: Anyone of Us

This used to be my all-time favorite song for a long time back in the days. It didn’t grow off me, but my music knowledge just got wider and better. This is still stunning as hell and I love it so much!
Placement: #21
Artist: Guns N’ Roses
Song: November Rain

This is the best guitar riff I’ve ever heard and that’s why I chose that part of the video, because it shows pure skill and the magic with instruments. I don’t know about you, but this is above legendary.
Placement: #20
Artist: Coldplay
Song: Viva La Vida

This is Coldplay on its best and I really miss the nostalgic feeling of listening to the bell and the striking keybord, but that’s why living in the older music world ain’t that bad. The lyrics are genius made, it’s wonders..
Placement: #19
Artist: Evanescence
Song: Bring Me to Life

Honestly, I’m speechless of how good this metal band is. It seems like they have nothing but masterpieces in every corner. This song hits incredibly hard and so does the rest of their songs. Still they’re all perfected..
Placement: #18
Artist: Backstreet Boys
Song: Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely

Although I love rock, BSB never failed to impress me and therefore earned a spot. I love so many of their songs and was really the generations biggest boyband. I wish I grew up that time, jeez..
Placement: #17
Artist: Justin Timberlake
Song: Cry Me a River

You just can’t hate his prime songs, they’re too good even though he sometimes acted like an asshole, but he’s a really nice guy. Can’t argue when his best song is literally about Britney and the toxic relationship.
Placement: #16
Artist: R.E.M.
Song: Losing My Religion

This is just amazing. The lyrics are so powerful and the video adds the last stretch of the magic to go wider into the theme. This deserves the popularity it has, but it’s still super underrated in today’s music.
Placement: #15
Artist: Keane
Song: Everybody’s Changing

Another super underrated band and it’s an anthem! Everybody’s Changing is about trying to work out where you are in the world, and never giving up. With the good message, the song is really great!
Placement: #14
Artist: The Fray
Song: How to Save a Life

This might be the greatest music video of all-time. It speaks up for mental health, death and ends with to support each other in the weakest point. This song is incredibly beautiful and should be recognized more.
Placement: #13
Artist: Victoria
Song: Tears Getting Sober

I know I said non-eurovision songs only, but how can I not let my favorite ESC song in to this list? It’s so enchanting and it’s a dark fairytale going from dusk to dawn. My most heard song this year too.
Placement: #12
Artist: Bon Jovi
Song: It’s My Life

Out of all their big hits, I picked this one. It has a more meaning for me as the song itself says: «I just want to live while I’m alive» and when I heard Cory cover this, damn my heart was filled with pain and sorrow..
Placement: #11
Artist: Queen
Song: The Show Must Go On

Part of the last legendary Innuendo album, this was the song which presented Freddie’s voice the best. There’s an unbelieveable story behind this song, being sick and on the edge to die. He did THAT! Best singer to exist.
Placement: #10
Artist: Linkin Park
Song: In the End

Chester and Mike did absolutely amazing in this song and the thoughts of this never happening again breaks my heart. I’d beg to see them live playing my fave LP songs. This is golden. This is an another dimension. Perfection.
Placement: #9
Artist: Aerosmith
Song: Crazy

One of the best bands of all-time and I had so many songs I wanted to include for them, but I love so many songs. Crazy, however is one of the most powerful, energetic and fun rock songs I’ve ever heard. Amazing atmosphere!
Placement: #8
Artist: Britney Spears
Song: Stronger

This is amazing. It only gives you confidence boost and a great feeling to let go of the dark side and move on. By far her most iconic song and the song I could put on repeat most without going bored.
Placement: #7
Artist: Queen
Song: Don’t Stop Me Now

I mean of course my favorite band is gonna get mentioned more times than others, especially when you coutinuously serve masterpiece after masterpiece and that’s exactly what Queen stands for. Kings serves a dance party!
Placement: #6
Artist: Radiohead
Song: Creep

The hard ranking just started and I wanna place this first so bad, but ugh. This is a classic and will never be defeated by modern music. We stan rock for everything and Creep is the reason why I absolutely LOVE rock music.
Placement: #5
Artist: Linkin Park
Song: Numb

Linkin Park not finished, when their best ever song is also one of my favorite songs of all-time. It’s so fucking good and I love to scream with Chester on the chorus, because it gives such an amazing fucked up feeling, but LOVE IT!
