St. Patrick’s Half Birthday: a Story of Celebration and Failure

We didn’t know if St. P would make it this long so we celebrated last month, but he’s still here so we’re celebrating today, too. It’s 6 months from St. Patrick’s Day, so basically his half birthday https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="☘️" title="Kleeblatt" aria-label="Emoji: Kleeblatt"> 1/
But St. Patrick is a patient eater. So I made him a little cupcake with a candle. I even set up a little table for him! Look how interested he is! 3/
Maybe a little too interested...don’t get too interested, Paddy!

Did he listen?

No he did not.

With the ghost of Swiz whispering into his shaggy ears, St. Patrick dove right in and lit his face on fire. 5/
Fortunately, he is so shaggy, fluffy, fanstastic that his fur put the candle out, but not before he got a good singeing 6/
These photos took place in like 2 seconds and in that time he had swallowed the cupcake whole- CANDLE INCLUDED- before my gobsmacked self had time to process 7/
St. Patrick is no worse for wear but I have, once again, lost several years off my life due to his antics. I hope you have enjoyed this thread. I am off to throw away all the candles in the house so I never let this happen again /end
