It took a Freedom of Information request for students @TeensTakeCharge to get racial data on students applying to *screened* *public* schools in NYC.

One ex, from Eleanor Roosevelt HS- 39% of applicants were Black or Latinx, but only 5% received offers b/c screens use criteria that is culturally biased.
Note: these 13 schools are different than NYC's 9 specialized HSs, which have their own, related problems w/ segregation.

Last thing- if you listened to ep 5 of #NiceWhiteParents, you know that D15 in NYC removed all screens for its middle schools (which had absurd screens & loopholes).
