Little personal news: I am starting a job next week @ibm as a full stack developer. I’m so excited. And of course there is more to this career change story.
I *loved* teaching and so admire the teachers in my life. As I shared with my colleagues in March, it was such a hard move away from teaching.
But sometimes opportunities to chase a dream come up, and you have to make a choice and take a risk. Next week, a dream-in-progress since last September (when I started self studying code) will turn to reality.
I want to use my Twitter to follow and focus on issues that matter to me — education, inequities in our society, technology, development and so on.
And I intend to write a longer post (for medium or something) really detailing my journey, since I devoured posts like that when I started out my career transition. Stay tuned.
I should also add to this thread a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped me along the way and a shout out to @projshift. Any success I have reflects not on me alone but also on the people around me who helped me. More on that soon...
