I will actively, persistently, and strongly advocate against the purchase of ANY @SubaruCanada vehicle.
They willingly continue selling vehicles with an engine prone to excessive oil consumption and catastrophic failure. This is unacceptable.

My car is a 2012 WRX Limited. Meticulously maintained. Completely stock engine. 92,000km. All oil changes and servicing completed at dealerships.

A class action lawsuit in the USA forced @subaru_usa to settle with owners of my car, and others, because of this issue.

The EJ25 (2.5L) engine has been found consume engine at dangerously excessive levels.

Since settling in 2016, in @subaru_usa has reimbursed or paid for repairs for 10s of 1000s of these engines for affected vehicles, sorted by VIN number. My VIN number falls within this.

Because I purchased this vehicle in Canada, and live in Canada, that settlement has no bearing here.

Furthermore, none of this information was communicated to Canadian Subaru owners, by @SubaruCanada . Would this not have seemed relevant at the time?

I am now facing a repair between $7000-$10,000 for a vehicle with less than 100,000km and treated with kid gloves, because of gross negligence and failure to communicate a known issue from @subarucanada.

Please share and #retweet this thread so others can avoid purchasing a vehicle with dangerous and expensive engine problems that @SubaruCanada knowlingly continues to sell.
