I wholly support the state's efforts in relation to #COVID19
I believe we all have a responsibility personally and professionally but I am struggling to see the benefit in closing theatres (very controlled environments) in Lvl 3 while pubs / restraurants / retail open

If one of the main reasons that pubs / restaurants are open is to supply a community and social focus for people out of their homes. Well then the arts, theatres and gigs can offer that...no alcohol or dinner but definitely food for the soul #savethearts #thisiswhoweare

We have spent months making our venues safe. We are dealing with very small numbers. We create a diversion and an uplift in a time when it's badly needed. We contact trace, we event manage, we have the expertise, we've been open? Why do we need to step back again? #Ireland

To be clear this is not solely about me wanting to keep @axisBallymun open.
This is about function of theatres in society.
I believe we serve as valid a reason to be open for the benefit of the public's mental & emotional health as pubs / cafes / retail do.

I believe we can safely be a place of succour and safety and consistency in these strange times.
I really do.
That's the type of society we can live in.
We can help
