Kids are back in school (in-person or online) and our government officials have left nannies, parents, and teachers to navigate the transition without guidance. However, we have each other and we all want to do the right thing. /1
To help with this transition, we worked with @HIHEmployers to create a guide for employing a nanny who may also supervise online learning.

Read through this thread for tips and check out the full guide: https://employers.domesticworkers.org  /2
First things first: asking the nanny you employ or hiring one to take on supervising remote instruction makes a lot of sense since nannies have excellent skills to ensure our children focus and thrive. /3
Next: new responsibilities call for a new work agreement. Clarify new roles and expectations in writing. If your nanny takes on additional online learning responsibilities, increase their pay. /4
Pause for a minute: does your nanny have school-aged kids doing remote learning also? Can she bring them to work with her?

Have you walked through your home classroom set-up? Think through how to create the best environment for you, your kids, and the nanny in your home. /5
Communicate! We can’t emphasize this one enough. /6
The next few weeks will be an adjustment for all of us but we can get through it together. /7
