How to create a solid online business... even if you're not a marketer

3 key concepts to explore to build a killer offer

Let's start with some assumptions:

1) You're not inventing something brand new (like the very first video game)

2) You're not disrupting an entire market (like Uber and Lyft did to taxis)

Don't worry - you can still build a great offer

Let's begin:

Here's what we're not going to worry about: saturation

Are some markets saturated? Yes, of course.

Thing is... if something is, or appears saturated...

Your first thought should be that the concept is *validated*

Take Red Bull for example.

Before entering the US market, they did tons of research.

The "non-alcoholic beverages" market was full of competitors.

But instead of being scared of saturation, they saw clear demand validation.

By the way... Red Bull didn't invent energy drinks

So they weren't first to market

Yet, by catering to a proven consumer desire...

And by *differentiating* their offer...

They captured billions in market share

In the tech world, they use a term called product-market fit

For our purposes, in ecom, info-products, courses, ebooks, coaching programs, etc.

Or as an affiliate for those...

What we want to think about is *offer-marker fit*

Remember: we are NOT inventing a new market

You're looking to fulfill an existing desire OR to solve a painful problem

So saturation = validation

A "me too" offer probably won't work

So we want to fight saturation with *differentiation*

If you try to sell the exact same thing, the exact same way to the exact same people...

It either won't work... or you'll be competing by lowering the price

What we want to do is raise value:

Both objective and perceived...

And capture some of that value in a fair exchange

So what should you do?

1) Choose a market

Almost everything fits into one of these categories
-Health
-Wealth
-Relationships

2) Find a subniche with a specific problem/desire

Health example: moms with baby weight to lose

Wealth example: students that need a plan to start making money online in 5-10 hours a week

Relationships: recently divorced dads that never dated online

3) Research

- Understand the person, AKA the customer avatar or buyer persona, in as much depth as possible

- Discover the various offers that seek to solve the specific problem

4) Decide to create your own offer of find one you can affiliate for

5) Figure out how you're going to get traffic to your offer

I won't get into paid traffic (ads) on this thread...

But I'll say it can obviously work incredibly well,
