Tyler the creator’s evolution and maturation as an artist feels analogous to my coming of age. I’m sure other long time fans can relate
When Tyler first started making music, he was just a punk ass loud mouth teen, so was I. Despite His vulgar themes, his overall message to just be ur full weird self resonated hard with me as a young teen just trying to fit in
Seeing odd future at its peak after following it for so long as a fringe group was like seeing your team win it all. That shit was great ngl
As Tyler matured, so did I. His music became less obnoxious, so did my personality. As I became more introspective and explorative, so did Tyler’s music. This sounds crazy but it feels like Tyler and I grew up together. Again, I’m sure other long time listeners can relate
Tyler and I started out as similar but different people and matured into similar but different people. It’s honestly how crazy an artist can influence a whole generation.
But I don’t think anyone did it like Tyler. He started out as a kid and matured into an adult. Therefore I literally mean it when I say, I feel like me and tons of other ppl grew up along side Tyler the Creator. We went from punk ass teens to mature(ish) introspective adults
I just got a lot of appreciation for @tylerthecreator his music had a huge impact on me growing up and still does. I’m listening to the @dissectpodcast series on flower boy and it just got me thinking and reminiscing kinda the reason why I started this rant
