i assume he's talking about James Harden?

(he averaged 29.6 points per game in the playoffs but sounds like that is who he is talking about) https://twitter.com/okcfanethan/status/1306448908894298112
(he is talking about Harden, this is from last year thanks @RocketIntellect)

- it is weird that we judge star players in the playoffs compared to anything other than themselves.

Harden is still good & productive in the playoffs! ... but Houston is built around him being great.
This year he was 5 points less productive per 100 possessions in the playoffs, shot bad from 3, attempted less shots and 3s, got to the free throw line less

"But he was double teamed more!" I know, and he was! His assist % even went up. He also disappeared as a result
We just watched Jokic control an entire series being double teamed, Harden has to be good enough to be the best player in a series regardless of how he's being guarded, otherwise Houston is going to disappoint in the playoffs every year without a comparable star next to him
It's not a coincidence that their best shot came with Chris Paul, he's been an objectively better player than anyone else that Harden has ever played next to in Houston, he doesn't have weaknesses in his game that defenses can exploit, and he's not going to shrink under pressure
- Harden has had exactly zero seasons where he picked up his productivity in the playoffs

- the last time LeBron James wasn't more productive in the playoffs was 2013

- Kawhi Leonard's productivity went up last year in Toronto (down this year)

- Curry's went up in 15 & 18
that's not to say productivity going up and winning is imperatively linked, but it certainly helps. If your team is accustomed to a player being a certain level of great, and they take a step back from that, then some other area of the teams play has to make up the difference
