Debating provincial proposal to change blue box. New rules could have producers collecting, that could mean more trucks on road, different/multiple collection days, less stuff recycled & increases in costs to cities. It was supposed to encourage less packaging and more recycling
I’m convinced lids from both Hortons and McDonalds are 90% of litter. And containers from Ontario canada is store. This won’t be touched by new provincial recycling regulations.
Thanks to @TOenviro Emily Alfred for her deputation. points out that collecting recycling in public spaces like parks and commercial establishment are not covered by new Extended Producer Reaponaibility regs also treats single family homes and multi unit buildings differently.
