Don’t miss the fuckuppery that is universities putting the lives of Black athletes at risk to placate desires of white donor class. How shameful, how immoral, how absolutely consistent w/a kind of racial capitalism that burdens Black lives in service of white ppl’s entertainment.

And miss me w/ the bullshit that is, “They want to play.” Unis aren’t responding to the needs and desires of athletes. They’re responding to a donor class that threatens to withhold future donations, b/c these institutions care more about profits than they do Black lives. Period.

In short, I don’t want to hear anything about your DEI efforts if you think the Black lives of your football players are worth a million dollar check from some rich white dude.

It’s why I’ve been so angered by plans like @UMich’s to open up so quickly. As with all things COVID related, this is a racial justice issue. And if your DEI person doesn’t tell you this, you need a new DEI person.
