Most frequent questions I got from potential clients during closed beta, “Why a design studio for content creators? Why now?” I think trying to explore problems you personally face is the best source of creativity and potential. 👇🏽
When my city began to lock down in the spring, I found myself with more free time and began streaming here and there. Playing games and interacting with chat was easy! Trying to find my niche and develop a brand, not so much.
I wanted an awesome logo, clean overlays and scene design, amazing animated transitions, and perfect video edits. My options were to give a big company a pile of cash for all that or find and manage relationships with various freelancers.
I chose the latter of the two and one problem after came rolling in. Files won’t carryover from one project to another and I need to pay new person to correct, timelines weren’t met, cost wasn’t what we agreed to, there has to be a better way right?
Chatted with 25+ streamers in all different stages of their content creation careers to see if I was just dumb or if there was something here to explore. Turns out, this is a common problem for those new to streaming. Think it’s time to change that.
So we launched a studio that provides custom and affordable graphic design solutions to content creators. All and all. But in the long-run, my personal goal for @SHIFTDesignLabs is to make design more accessible for those new to content creation.
I want this to be the direct solution to the problem I had. It was a daunting task trying to make my stream look remotely good, and I think that’s a massive barrier to entry when it comes to content creation.
So here’s to removing barriers and making design in content creation more accessible. Here’s to hoping we help at least a handful of new creators stay on their platform and succeed.
