Female publications rates from 1999-2019: on average 26.4% of political science journal articles are by female authors. It doesn't seem to be improving either. As a female scholar, this is depressing. As editor of @ISQ_Jrnl, this is alarming. https://twitter.com/montoya_celeste/status/1306408230176710657
"each additional increase in year between 1999 and 2019 is associated with a .34% increase in women’s authorship." Let me state that again - that is just slightly over 1/3 of 1% increase in female authored publications.
Is this reflective of less submissions or lower acceptable rates for female authors? At @ISQ_Jrnl, in 2018-19, 21% of submissions were solo or female teams. Acceptance rates are not effected by gender for @ISQ_Jrnl.
