🧵 Small changes every muslim can make in their daily life that will draw you closer to Allah:
1. Firstly and most importantly, slowing down your prayer. Make sure not only your body attends to the prayer but also your soul, mind and heart.
2. Sunnah prayers/ nawafil. An easy start can be two rakka’s before fajr and 2 after maghreb. Make it a habbit to pray at least one witr rakka before you sleep/ after isha/ in the last third of the night (before fajr).
3. Reading post prayer supplications/ athkaar. Stay on your prayer mat a little longer to sincerely do your athkaar after every Salah.
4. Read Qur’an daily. Depending on your level of fluency, determine a doable amount to read after every Salah! Might that be a page, half a page or even one Ayah.
5. Implement the morning and evening supplications in your day. After Fajr Salah and Asr Salah take 10 minutes to make sure you’ve performed the remembrance of Allah sincerely.
6. Ask Allah to guide you and fix your heart. Beg him daily to help you get closer to him and to your deen and to remove the love for sinning from your heart.
7. Know your weaknesses and set personal goals for yourself, don’t accept your sins, don’t get used to them, don’t become unaware of them! Actively work on giving them up whether it’s backbiting, music, swearing, lying or any bigger/ smaller sins, just don’t accept them.
8. Perform small acts of kindness everyday, help people in any way you can and do it for the sake of Allah only.
Reminder to myself first and foremost, feel free to add anymore tips to help me and others. May Allah guide us all🤍
9. Sleeping in a state of wuduu and having tawba, istighfaar and remembrance of Allah being the lest thing on your tongue before you sleep
10. The easiest of all, just don’t do any harm or evil, don’t mistreat any of Allah’s creations, don’t cause anyone any pain, don’t add wood to any fires, don’t make people’s lives any harder, don’t hate and don’t contribute to anyone’s hardships in any way.
