Ofcom response to complaints about Diversity& #39;s performance on Britain& #39;s Got Talent finds no grounds for any formal investigation of the dance routine.

This clear ruling should certainly please those defending freedom of expression against & #39;cancel culture& #39;.
You can read the ruling here

Ofcom found no grounds to investigate, rejecting claims
* that theme inappropriate for a family audience. Shown at 9.40pm
* that dance encouraged violence against police officers
* that it was racist against white people, citing that its content (below)
* that it was political
I am not myself aware of any political voice, media commentator or public voice of any profile expressing the view that Ofcom should have sanctioned ITV over the Britain& #39;s Got Talent programme under the code.
Rod Liddle didn& #39;t argue that, in his Sunday Times column arguing the complaints showed the great mass of public find BLM & #39;entirely repellent& #39;

ST have now deleted his column online, because that Liddle column *did* breach the Ipso code (on accuracy) https://twitter.com/sundersays/status/1305421703854649344?s=19">https://twitter.com/sundersay...
An example of a & #39;culture war& #39; spat (mostly online) with ittle participation from right-of-centre public voices. Most complaints followed media reporting of a few initial complaints. Little media advocacy/ commentary in support of Ofcom complaints, seen as quite a fringe view
