Ofcom response to complaints about Diversity's performance on Britain's Got Talent finds no grounds for any formal investigation of the dance routine.

This clear ruling should certainly please those defending freedom of expression against 'cancel culture'.
You can read the ruling here

Ofcom found no grounds to investigate, rejecting claims
* that theme inappropriate for a family audience. Shown at 9.40pm
* that dance encouraged violence against police officers
* that it was racist against white people, citing that its content (below)
* that it was political
I am not myself aware of any political voice, media commentator or public voice of any profile expressing the view that Ofcom should have sanctioned ITV over the Britain's Got Talent programme under the code.
Rod Liddle didn't argue that, in his Sunday Times column arguing the complaints showed the great mass of public find BLM 'entirely repellent'

ST have now deleted his column online, because that Liddle column *did* breach the Ipso code (on accuracy) https://twitter.com/sundersays/status/1305421703854649344?s=19
An example of a 'culture war' spat (mostly online) with ittle participation from right-of-centre public voices. Most complaints followed media reporting of a few initial complaints. Little media advocacy/ commentary in support of Ofcom complaints, seen as quite a fringe view
