I'm very concerned about the recruitment at #nffc. Lots of players of pedigree being looked at/signed, but we're talking big wages and players at or past their peak in positions where we already have scores of players - including some highly paid forced into the U23s.
There are reasons we have to sell our hottest prospects every season (admittedly partly because we are in the second tier and some want/deserve to play higher) and part of that is to pay for the mistakes we make in recruitment. But those lessons aren't learned. #nffc
Every window is defined by quantity - wholesale change - rather than quality. And often these are players with limited sell-on value who we then spend months or years desperately trying to offload. The squad gets bigger and bigger and the accounts look worse and worse. #nffc
I don't wish to be too negative but I really worry about where this leaves us. What if we don't have a Cash to sell next summer? And should we be so comfortable doing so anyway? I can't see the vision or the strategy beyond sheer short-term (expensive) hope. #nffc
While my understanding (echoed elsewhere, from what I've seen) is the board are currently supportive of Lamouchi, there are those around the club who wouldn't be surprised to see that change in just a handful of games. And where are we then? A new eleven for a new manager? #nffc
