Let me be very clear. Dyslexia exists. Inability to find perfect tests for something does not imply that it doesn't exist.
Dyslexia is part of my identity, it helps me understand myself. Upsetting to see mainstream news giving space to argue against it.
And yes, it's true that dyslexia friendly reading interventions also help non dyslexic children learn to read. That doesn't mean dyslexia doesn't exist, though it does rather bed the question of why there are still schools who don't use these methods.
I saw my 2yo learn to read by watching me teach his likely dyslexic big brother. Buckets of patience and enthusiasm needed to get big brother (5) to practise and learn. Little brother just picked it up incidentally. Aged 2! You really think their brains are wired the same?
