I keep thinking about that article about NASA sending only women on it's first mission to mars, so as to avoid pregnancy. I think it's a great idea. It was an all man trip to the moon the first few times, seems only fair for the women to get the first stab at mars. 1/n
While the headline of the article suggested it was to avoid sex, this obviously glosses over the fact that lesbians and bisexuals exist and some of them are astronauts. Which makes for some interesting thought experiments. Imagine being the only straight woman on the crew? 2/n
There's a common joke "What does a lesbian bring on the second date?" "a moving truck and all their possessions". How does that work when you're all on the same small craft, heading to colonise another planet? Kinda jumped the gun a bit? 3/n
Then we get onto the simple mechanics, cos let's face it since the first post of this thread you've been trying to work out how lesbian sex in zero G works... I mean, there's not going to be much resistance, unless one or more of you brace against the ship... 4/n
Then we should consider the design of the space craft. They aren't known for their soft easy bounce interiors. The first thing one of the space X astronauts did on arriving at the ISS was bang his head. Imagine doing that mid flow in zero g sex with a crewmate... 5/n
And that, good people, is why I seem to have spent 3 hours laying in bed unable to sleep thinking about the various implications of an all women Lesbian/bi mission to colonise another planet, and how I really hope it happens, really soon. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. 6/6.
