Why is it that so many people think that as soon you’ve finished cancer treatment you’re ready to go back to normal life? 1/
I might look “well” but I have to nap after taking the dog for a walk, take multiple breaks when hoovering a room, sleep for 12hrs a night and still be exhausted, I forget what I’m saying mid sentence and might not remember what I talking about for 3 days...2/
Can read something over and over and it still not register in my brain, have a really active day and then not get dressed for the following 2 days because I can’t physically move let alone make a cup of coffee. I am not a robot. I am a human being. 3/
A human being that has just had 7 months of intensive treatment to eradicate a life threatening disease. So fuck off with your “you should be able to go back to work soon”, “if you can meet a friend for lunch you can sit in an office for 8 hrs a day. 4/
My immune system has been shot to pieces every time I enter a hospital for the last 7 months with actual POISON. My Drs and I will decide when I can return to “normal”, not you. Support me, do not make me feel worse than I already do. End.
