Hi vendors,

Most monetary transactions on social media are concluded in the DM. The way you handle your DM can destroy your chance to close a deal.

Here are 7 horrible things you may be doing in the DM KILLING YOUR BUSINESS.
1.
Bad Grammar.

If your grammar is bad it means you cannot communicate fluently with your clients.

From the lack of use of punctuation marks to writing bad tenses can throw your clients off.

Kindly get a social media manager, Grammarly, or cross-check with a friend.
2.
Using Unnecessary Abbreviations.

Abbreviations such as 'kk', 'LOL', or 'aiit' and the likes have no place when speaking with a client.

If you are speaking in official capacity kindly refrain from such.
3.
Using Endearing Words

Why would you want to call someone 'my dear' or 'darling', or 'my paddy' when you don't know them personally?

They do are not cool with you like that.

They don't know you like that.

Please stop.
4.
Not Responding Quickly

We understand this can be hard sometimes😔, however, take note of these:

-53% of people say that they loose patience after an hour

-If it's urgent the above people's patience is cut short by 75%
5.
Not Apologising For Replying Late

Replying late is one thing; not apologising is another.

That is just plain rude.

No customer want that.
6.
Changing The Tone/Voice Of Your Business.

Every good business has a specific tone/voice when communicating. It can be formal, casual, funny, etc.

Suddenly moving from formal to casual in the DM can throw clients off.

Be mindful of this.
7. Getting Personal

Don't use your business page to get to know a client on a very personal level, especially in the first contact.

Don't go about saying "Hey, what's up?"

A mutual connection may happen, and it's fine. Just be careful with mixing business and pleasure.
If you are on any of these tables, please get down.

Thank you.
