“People systematically undervalue their time.”

Coaches: A question we should regularly ask ourselves is, “What’s the highest leverage opportunity available to me right now?”.

More often than not, the answer will differ from what we’re doing.
I wasn’t able to attend @codyroyle’s @ALTIS talk, but I wholeheartedly agree with his point that coaches of the future will be better about their own and team members’ time allocation. https://twitter.com/builtbyscott/status/1305572620520361991
One hurdle I’ve had to get over is accepting that valuing your time doesn’t have to be a mindset of minimizing the time you work so you can go lay on a beach.

It’s just recognizing that when you work with your brain, time put in =/= output.

This is different from the norm.
During college summers, I worked in a factory. 1 hour put in yielded x parts and rewarded me with y dollars. Like clockwork.

But as a coach, there’s an input/output asymmetry. 1 hour of input doesn’t have a predictable output.
So I agree with @codyroyle.

The coaches who will thrive in the future will know how to value their time and embrace the inherent asymmetry between input and output.

This is what it looks like to optimize your time as a coach.
