15 days later, satellite images showed the space between the old and new blocks were engulfed in fire.

The timing of the blaze coincided with when fires in Indonesia were choking Malaysia with haze.
IOI, however, denied responsibility over the fire.
Instead, they blamed the fire on a prolonged drought, and negligence by locals.
