[THREAD] It’s the start of a new season & after #THFC’s dire performance against Everton, I started to wonder...

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱?

So let’s look at what 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗲 has done so far in his EPL career. He’s made 𝟮𝟭𝟬 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, scoring 𝟭𝟰𝟯 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀, with an average of 𝟬.𝟲𝟴 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 & he’s well on track to beat 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿’s record #THFC #NUFC /2
However, 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗲’s performances and amount of appearances are starting to be affected by the volume and severity of the injuries he’s suffered (mainly his ankles) and over the past couple of seasons he’s played and scored less. #THFC #NUFC /3
While it’s often forgotten that 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿 was blighted by a couple of career-threatening knee injuries, his longevity meant that he added over 50 goals to his tally in his 30s, making his overall tally a challenge for 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗲 to match #THFC #NUFC /4
While we can’t really know if Kane will stay in the EPL forever, refind some form or whether he’ll suffer more injuries, it’s clear that to have any chance of breaking 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿’s he’s probably going to have to play to his mid-30s at an elite level. #THFC #NUFC /5
While this is just a bit of fag packet maths & some fun, I’d be interested to know what you think.
