Two somewhat contradictory things I hope SA can reconcile:

1. With govt asking us to install an app, fear of surveillance and invasion of privacy is legitimate and people are right to ask the questions. Esp with a govt that has a history of employing dodgy securocrats.
2. If you know anything about how these contact tracing apps work and the technology they use, you know that it CAN'T be used to identify you, track your location or who you interact with. It's probably going to be the LEAST invasive app you have on your phone.
The explanation of how tf the app can do contact tracing without being able to identify you or who you interact with is somewhat technical and I doubt most people will take the time to grok it. There's a trust deficit to overcome here.
Having said this, if you have a large following or a platform, *you have a responsibility* to educate yourself before you influence your audience one way or the other. https://twitter.com/avesse/status/1306507376846155777
