If the death by the 1st encounter of the hares was the most physically painful death this was his most mentally straining death. Subaru started off confident that this would be the final loop but gave into his selfish desire to end his life by the Emilia of this world he rejected
Subaru knew that Emilia has been pushed beyond her limits into a corner by roswaal, using the algorithm to summon snowfall and have the Garfiel/villagers blame her in the graveyard of a witch for the misfortunes soon to follow. With no loving support, his results were reached
I say this is selfish bc Subaru made no effort to save absolutely anyone (not that I blame him I mean w/the injuries/strain what could he or any of us do). His desire was to just reach Emilia and die by her side. Running thru the hellish landscape he sacrificed the ryuzu clones
Once he got there he knew everything Emilia was saying was just her completely broken mind speaking but the warmth she offered him was satisfactory. Emilia ofc didn& #39;t notice the horrific state of Subaru& #39;s body and she ended up most likely perishing by the incoming sizeable hares
What& #39;s crazy about this to me is Subaru knew Emilia was going to die after him but he made no efforts to protect her. This was truly his first selfish desire on any loop where he just couldn& #39;t do a single thing to protect anyone or anything. I loved seeing that even he has limits
From glimmering hope to absolute selfish despair, this was his most powerful loop that he& #39;s been thru imo that& #39;s shown that just when he& #39;s got everything figured out, he really didn& #39;t have a single clue about how many problems he REALLY has to deal with. The contrast is amazing
Last thing: Going forward when Subaru spoke with Echidna, he came to the realization that he& #39;s going to be more confident using RBD. There& #39;s a fatal flaw tho to that way of thinking that& #39;s going to be brought to light in the next episode and also by someone he LEAST expects soon
