To give an idea of jobs affected by the loss of fishing vessels i ll list them.
Each boat has 2-24 man crew
To keep the business side running legally each boat is affiliated to an office such as Caley fisheries who manage the paperwork-
The office employs 10-30 people
Part 1
Part 2
Then you have industries involved in preparing a boat for sea-
Ice factories , box berths which rent you boxes, fuel companies, quota managers, fisheries officers,
Butchers, bakers, grocers who feed the crews , then ships chandlers who you buy oilskins, gloves, boots
Survival-
Part 3
Suits ,all the spare parts that you need for mending everything at sea.
Then of course netmakers, who mend and build nets supply your wires and sweeps, trawl doors without which you can't fish.
Then the trusty marine engineers and welders who constantly maintain the engine-
Part 4-
The hydraulics and computer experts who look after auto trawl, radars, fishfinders etc.
Telecoms experts who maintain your radio communications and internet.
Even sky TV engineers as all boats have sky now.
Then once you get to the fish market after a trip and land fish-
Part 5-
You need lumpers who help lift your boxes-
Fishbuyers, fishsellers, auctioneers, lorry drivers ,fish processors, filleters and of course finally supermarkets, chip shops Resteraunts and anyone who makes a living from our wonderful fresh fish.
