I feel I should make clear, on twitter I have a “speak for yourself” impulse a lot and I’ve talked about transmisogyny being institutional, but I am personally also really upset at the wrong-headed notion that trans men + AFAB enbies aren’t seriously systematically oppressed
Any time someone is like “the hard part of being trans is really just lack of individual recognition, nothing socioeconomic” I’m like, man that nonsense really pisses me off ngl
Like there’s a lot of serious hardship and violence that surrounds being a CIS queer man, idk where anyone is getting the idea it is somehow better, rather than worse, for trans men? Unreal
I keep thinking of that time someone on tumblr was like “the proof trans men have male privilege is this study showing a 1% pay raise after transition”

Right and like double+ the rates of unemployment lol
Really tired of bad analysis that downplays the effect of massive organized oppression systems especially when we have the ability to observe the impact of those systems, man, like it’s not hard to act like a fucken human being
There was literally a convo that stretched like half of twitter less than two months ago about how the medical industry essentially feeds on purpose into the deaths of trans men, why is there such poor collective memory of shit
Idk I feel like I’m supposed to frame this as “don’t come for my trans brothers” which in itself is fine, but I also specifically want it to be clear this is true about trans dudes I don’t personally like, that aren’t my “brothers,” you know what I mean
It’s not JUST solidarity it’s also, like, I want people to stop essentially lying with the pretense of it being social justice in order to justify their diminishment of the plights of whole populations.
Sorry I’m kind of drunk atm
