Hi there. Can we normalize getting rid of things you don’t like/want/need/use regardless of who got it for you? I keep a lot of stuff under my bed or in closets for stupid reasons, but probably the dumbest is “because aunt so and so gave it to me”. 🙃
That sounds harsh so let me rephrase: I like and use most things made for me and I LOVE getting personalized gifts. But when I’m OUT OF ROOM and your homemade trinket is never used or looked at, I don’t think I should have to feel guilty about letting it go.
This wasn’t supposed to be a rant but here I am on the third tweet in this thread- my point is this: purging should not make me feel like I’m a murderer of love or memories, so I’d like for guiltless cleaning to be a popular thing. Thanks.
