1/3: 1st day @ a new school for our daughter who is on the #autism spectrum & she was faced with such bad bullying by multiple kids that I had to go pick her up midday, bawling. The school handled it wonderfully & we’ve rapidly gotten a future solution in place. @autcareandshare
2/3: The purpose of this tweet is not to look for sympathizers. What I’m asking is that parents of other children: please teach your kids to be kind, teach them that not everyone is the same and our differences are what make us wonderful & interesting.
3/3: Teach your children empathy. Talk to them about neurodiversity, acceptance, patience, understanding. I often get asked how by fellow parents how they can help: this is how you can help & to take it a step further teach your kids to stand up for those that are vulnerable.
