not to tweet about ptx but when there's disappointment about covers I want to say that considering their originals sound like rejects from glee s2 & that they're at their best when they're not trying to sound like pop music's answer to a kidz bop friendly version of pitch perfect
that I'd actually be okay with them being a group that exclusively does covers but every cover they've released in the last like... 2 years I'm like "wait no not like that"
Like I just wish whatever process they have that goes on in deciding what they release next someone would have the sense for 5 seconds to say, hey, you know what's worked well for us? you know what really sounds like us? aha, gold, god rest, making christmas.
and instead it's like covers of pop songs and originals that try to be pop songs but are a little too stooped in trying to cater to a conservative christian audience to manage it.
anyway basically I was watching some performances of aha and maybe they should have stopped after that because nobody had the sense to say thank god we don't ever have to do another fucking ed sheeran song because this here is what we're meant to sound like
(this excludes cologne because the second they do that live and do it well it's getting aha status in my brain)
